František Lipták is a Slovak theatre and film scenographer, production designer, and painter. He studied theatre scenography at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Throughout his career, he has designed sets for prominent Slovak and international stages, including the Slovak National Theatre and Astorka Korzo '90. In 1990, he co-founded the independent nomadic theatre Teatro Tatro, where he serves as the resident scenographer, creating unique, magical, and playful worlds. He has also made a significant mark in film, primarily through his fateful collaboration with director Martin Šulík. As a production designer, he worked on Šulík's most famous films, such as Záhrada, Krajinka, Slnečný štát, and Tlmočník. He even won a prestigious Czech Lion award for the visual design of Záhrada. His artistic signature is full of poetics and gentle imagination, which is clearly reflected in his highly successful freelance painting career.
