
Яна Плодкова
Jana Plodková is a highly sought-after Czech theatre, film, and television actress. A native of Jičín, she has been dedicated to acting, singing, and dancing since childhood. She successfully completed her professional education in drama acting at JAMU in Brno in 2003. Her professional career began at the Brno theatres Polárka and HaDivadlo. It was here that she gained significant recognition, partly thanks to her role as Eva Braun in the acclaimed production Doma u Hitlerů (At Home with the Hitlers). She later made guest appearances at Divadlo Na Fidlovačce in Prague. Since 2014, she has been a permanent member of the Divadlo Na zábradlí ensemble, where she has portrayed numerous prominent characters, such as Irina Arkadina in Chekhov's The Seagull and Madame du Châtelet in Lost Illusions. Alongside her theatre work, she regularly shines on camera and is one of the most frequently cast Czech actresses. She has received several nominations for the Czech Lion and the Czech Film Critics' Award, winning the prestigious Czech Lion in 2009 for her leading role in the film Protektor (Protector).
