Václav Mareš
Václav Mareš was a charismatic actor with a deep voice and natural authority. Immediately after graduating, he secured his first engagement at the Divadlo Na zábradlí upon the invitation of director Jan Grossman.
It was here that he became part of the legendary era of the Theatre of the Absurd, shining in productions such as Ubu Roi or The Trial. In 1968, he moved to the S. K. Neumann Theatre in Libeň (now the Theatre under the Palmovka), where he remained for twenty years, serving as its director for six of them. He later performed at the E. F. Burian Theatre and the Vinohrady Theatre. Towards the end of his career, he made guest appearances at the Dejvické Theatre and Městská divadla pražská. The general public also adored him as "Grandpa Liška" from the popular TV series The Street (Ulice).
