Мартин Матейка

Martin Matejka is a Czech theatre, television, and film actor. He has been involved in theatre since childhood, which led him to study acting at DAMU in Prague in 1989, where he enrolled alongside his sister, actress Magdalena Zimová. Together with director Jan Borna and his classmates, he subsequently stood at the birth of the legendary Dejvice Theatre (Dejvické divadlo). From there, in 1996, he moved to the newly emerging Divadlo v Dlouhé in Prague, to which he has remained loyal to this day, becoming one of its long-standing acting and musical pillars. Audiences at this popular stage could see him in many successful productions, such as Dopisy Olze (Letters to Olga), Jak jsem se ztratil (How I Got Lost), Lidská tragikomedie (The Human Tragicomedy), Souborné dílo Williama Shakespeara ve 120 minutách (The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [Abridged]), or Kabaret Kainar - Kainar. He also regularly applies his excellent comedic timing and experience in front of the camera. Television audiences know him from a variety of popular crime and comedy series; he has appeared, for example, in projects like Specialisté, Smysl pro tumor, Ohnivý kuře, or Ulice.
