
Даніела Коларжова
Daniela Kolářová is a prominent Czech theater and film actress. She was born in 1946 in Cheb and graduated from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) in 1968. After her beginnings at the S. K. Neumann Theatre, she connected her theatrical life with the Vinohrady Theatre, where she portrayed iconic roles such as Ophelia in Shakespeare's Hamlet and Emilia Marty in Čapek's The Makropulos Affair. She won the Alfréd Radok Award in 2005 for her role in Thomas Bernhard's play At the Goal (U cíle) at the Komedie Theatre. She made her screen debut in the film Private Gale (Soukromá vichřice), based on the novel by Vladimír Páral and directed by Hynek Bočan. She shined in the TV series A Typical Ordinary Family (Taková normální rodinka) by Fan Vavřincová and Hospital at the End of the City (Nemocnice na kraji města) by screenwriter Jaroslav Dietl. She formed an unforgettable acting duo with Jaromír Hanzlík, for example, in the comedy Summer with a Cowboy (Léto s kovbojem). Audiences also love her from the comedies Seclusion Near a Forest (Na samotě u lesa) and Ball Lightning (Kulový blesk) by the authorial duo Ladislav Smoljak and Zdeněk Svěrák, or from five films by director Jan Svěrák, including The Elementary School (Obecná škola) and Empties (Vratné lahve).
