Veterans Theatre

The world must witness Ukraine’s struggle through the eyes of its defenders. Veterans Theatre was founded in 2024 as a joint initiative of TRO Media — the communications unit of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — and the Theatre of Playwrights. The artistic director of the project is Akhtem Seitablayev. The theatre operates as a dramaturgy laboratory: veterans and active-duty soldiers learn to write plays and tell their own stories from the stage. Veterans perform alongside professional actors. In its first year, participants wrote over 35 texts.
