    Jan Leflík

    Jan Leflík

Jan Leflík is a Czech actor with a distinctive life and professional story and a long-standing pillar of the Zlín City Theatre, where he has been a permanent ensemble member since 2000. His connection to theatre began early – from 1975 he was part of the children’s studio of Brno’s Husa na provázku Theatre, which fundamentally shaped his artistic path. His journey to acting was far from straightforward. Trained as a mechanic, he worked as a trolleybus repairman before returning to professional theatre in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a performing stage manager at Husa na provázku. He also spent a short period at Karlín Musical Theatre in Prague before returning to Brno and later settling in Zlín. On the Zlín stage, he has created dozens of memorable roles, noted for their physical expressiveness, attention to detail, and ability to balance humour with human vulnerability. He also appears on screen – already in 1991 he attracted attention with the lead role in the television film Too Many Good Intentions and later appeared in TV series (Hříšní lidé města brněnského, among others) and other film projects. The media describe him as a reliable actor with an authentic presence and a deep connection to theatrical tradition, grounded in solid craftsmanship and rich personal experience.
